Is your ring stuck on your finger? This common issue arises from swollen fingers or pregnancy.
Don't rush to cut it with pliers or head to the ER! A professional jeweler shared this highly effective trick to safely remove a tight or stuck ring using just thread.
To remove a too-tight ring, follow these simple steps:
1. Take a thin thread and form a small loop.
2. Slide the loop under the ring, toward the fingertip.
3. Pull both ends to position it correctly: loop on the nail side, ends on the hand side.
4. Thread a thicker string through the loop.
5. Gently pull the thin thread's ends to pass the thicker string under the ring.
6. Continue pulling until the thicker string is fully under the ring, then remove the thin thread.
7. Wrap the longer end (nail side) of the thick thread around your finger toward the nail.
8. Unroll the other end under the finger and over, toward the nail.
9. Gently pull and unroll the thread until the ring slides off.

Your stuck ring is now off easily! Quick, effective, and no damage to your jewelry—far better than plastic bags or cutting.
The trickiest part is sliding the thin thread under the ring without discomfort. Use a semi-stiff thread like fishing line, or a needle to guide it.
Unrolling the thread while pulling compresses tissue ahead of the ring and creates space behind, allowing it to slide off smoothly.
