Unsent Project: Unsung Love Messages to Exes Transformed into Emotional Street Art

“I would do anything to have you again,” “If only I had known,” “You are the coolest and most exceptional girl,” “I still love you.”

These are the raw, heartfelt texts many of us have drafted for an ex but never hit send—messages of regret we’re glad we held back, or wish we hadn’t.

At just 18, blogger and Instagram artist Rora Blue tapped into this universal longing with her Unsent Project. She invited followers to share unsent words for their first love, paired with a color that evoked that person.

The result? A vibrant rainbow of sweet and bittersweet confessions printed as 4x3-foot posters on the walls of Sacramento. From afar, it’s visually striking; up close, deeply moving—a perfect balance of art and emotion.

This romantic, profoundly human installation stirs nostalgia for those high school days and the boy who led us in our first slow dance.
