Surviving the September Tunnel: Back-to-School Chaos and Work-Life Juggling

"Ah wait, I'm going through a tunnel, it might cut..." That's exactly what I should have told you 15 days ago. And yes, the connection dropped—along with my time to blog. Life got in the way.

September. I say it every year: the three hellish months are December, June, and September. No matter how prepared you are, the pace is relentless. Even feeling satisfied at first, those dark circles crept back by the 20th. This one hit hard.

It's okay, though. I powered through—balancing heavy workloads, kids' needs, and shopping lists bulked up for back-to-school essentials: a new notebook, second pair of sneakers, a drawing board, and a swimsuit that mysteriously shrank overnight before swim class. I ran the race, just like every parent. No medals needed (though chocolate ones are always welcome).

In the whirlwind of my mind and emotions.

Back to middle school (+ nearly 1 month): All good. She finally has her Imagin'R pass, cafeteria card, fixed schedule, and neighborhood friends for the walk to and from school. She's thriving—then not so much, then great, pulling faces, laughing, yelling at her brother, then playing. Totally normal.
She's sticking with Hip Hop for a second year—a miracle worth celebrating. Boxing starts Saturday mornings; she came home drained from the first session. Perfect for blowing off steam! Tomorrow, she's trying a fun English class post-lunch on Wednesdays. More updates once things settle.

Back to 5th grade (+ nearly 1 month): Smooth sailing. We picked up the Rubik's Cube obsession (and my cosmic theories) right where June left off—though it doesn't lighten those heavy backpacks. Now boxing twice weekly, budding artist sketching in the workshop instead of homework one evening, piano plinking before and during class (ahem), back to "I'm bored at school" and "I want to play." I could preach about diplomas, but instead, I schedule playtime. And I love it.

My comeback? Kicked off with a glowing portrait in Le Parisien, a live spot on Maison des Maternelles, a shoutout in Le Monde's article on "slashers" (multi-hyphenates like my former self). Upcoming: TEVA appearance and a road safety symposium on family commutes. At Com&Kids, fall brings big wins—a major press launch and new brands trusting us for comms. It's exhilarating, magical—pure passion.

So, I juggle. In real life, I thrive on it, but exhaustion is real. My brain won't unplug: it's GPS, planner, reminders all-in-one. Detour to Decathlon for sneakers between meetings? Check. Crisps for tomorrow's picnic? Got it. Post-dinner work, manage kids' meltdowns, hear them out, quiz lessons, enforce showers (tonight, please!), confiscate phones, file forms, hunt plane tickets for grandparents... Help!

Everything's fine.

And at home??
