Crafts for Valentine's Day; original ideas to make something sweet in no time

Crafting for Valentine's Day… some think it's fantastic, others don't like it. The fact remains that - without spending too much money - you can craft the most original gifts yourself for Valentine's Day. Being creative isn't quite my thing, but if I'm in a good mood, I'm going to craft the ideas below (or at least one of them) for Valentine's Day. I still have some time, right?

Crafts for Valentine's Day, original DIY craft ideas

1. Crafts for Valentine, a Love-Pompom

Are you a creative person? Then I really think this DIY is one of the toppers of crafting for Valentine, don't you? Make a Pom Pommetje, the same size as the wuppies used to be. Stick these on a heart sticker that serve as feet and the base is laid.

Stick 2 heart stickers on stems and 2 eyes and you're done. You can stick this beautiful Love Pompom on the dashboard of your sweetheart's car – secretly the evening before Valentine's Day. And if you don't want to craft them yourself, you can always get one of your children to get started, they will also be sweet while you are cooking.

Bet your partner will be mega surprised, I can already see the smile on his lips!

2. A personal voucher booklet

Make a personalized Valentine's Day crafting coupon book. I came across this idea at Fleur and think it's very resourceful! You do have to sit down for a while to come up with the monthly vouchers yourself, but she has already made the design for the booklet for you and you can download it here.

It's really nice to convert your inspiration into monthly ideas or outings that you can do with your partner while crafting for Valentine's Day. For example, you can have a dinner or a wonderful massage, but also crazy things like having a picnic together in the woods during a winter day. It doesn't matter, as long as it comes straight from your heart, right?

I am curious how many vouchers your partner would prefer to hand in immediately, instead of waiting until the relevant month.

Are you not into crafting for Valentine's Day? Then just put a simple note in his lunch box, that's also very sweet! Just like the lunchbox love you use for your kids.

3. A wooden heart in the garden

This wooden heart is slightly less sweet, but certainly no less beautiful. I think it's especially cool because I don't think I'm too romantic myself. With this idea I have the feeling that I can show what I feel 'from my heart', without it getting sticky, haha.

Another big advantage is that it is still easy to do Valentine crafts with this heart. I admit… you have to have a drill in your hand and take a brisk walk to collect a mountain of similar branches, but otherwise it's easy peasy.

What do you need?

  • branches
  • iron wire
  • drilling machine
  • rope

When you have collected the branches, you first place them in a model on the ground. And of course I don't have to tell you that you can still make the branches to size yourself, right? When you've put them down like a heart, then comes the hardest part. Drill holes in all branches so that you can connect the branches with an iron wire from one branch to the other. You can also do this with a sturdy rope, then you just have to make sure that the holes in the branches are large enough.

Once you have attached all the branches together, you can attach the heart to the top (with rope for example). In this case on the grid of the fence, but you can of course also hang it on the wall.

Tip:Paint or spray the heart white and hang it inside on the wall, also nice! You can also hang nice cards or photos on it.

4. A handwritten mug for your sweetie

One of my personal favorites to craft. I came across these mugs on Etsy, but they are also very easy to make yourself, did you know that? This makes crafting for Valentine's Day even more fun.

If you don't have much time to come up with a present, or you're a little short on cash, this mug is very easy to 'create' yourself for your Valentine.

What do you need?

  • a porcelain mug
  • an oven
  • a waterproof marker (it doesn't matter which color)

Write or draw something you like or something sweet that suits you and your sweetheart. Of course you can also use this text, no problem at all.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. When the oven is preheated and your text is to your liking… pop the mug in the oven and let it bake for 30 minutes. Then let it cool very well and your mug is ready for use! If all goes well (and you have used a good waterproof marker), it can even be put in the dishwasher. Should your text eventually go off? Well… then you are forced to just do it again! #whatstheproblem? Of course you make the coffee or the delicious cappuccino that you present your love in this mug on Valentine's morning. This makes crafting for Valentine's Day a breeze, doesn't it?

Also nice to make a very handwritten service, isn't it?

5. Funny text on a card or note

No time at all for tinkering, or absolutely no creative fingers? Don't worry! Even then, you can put a smile on your valentine's face without spending a fortune! What do you think of the above text? I think it's hilarious and I'm sure it will work in your home too.

So you see, there are plenty of ideas to get a peace of cake feeling from Valentine's crafts. And don't you want to tinker but do something fun for Valentine's Day? Then keep an eye on the site, because soon we will reveal some very nice and original Valentine's Day ideas. Keep you posted!

6. Valentine crafts; a heart on your glove

It can be that simple, embroider a heart on your gloves or draw it for valentine and take a photo in the way above. How sweet!

7. Heart of butterflies for valentine crafts

The above heart is also a very creative idea that you don't need that much time for, provided you have a good punch of course. You can choose a butterfly punch, but also a heart punch for example if you like that more. Work with a few different paper tones and you'll have a very creative Valentine's gift in no time.

8. Decorate pillow with pompoms

Grab one of your existing pillows and decorate it with pompoms. Just like above, you can craft a heart for Valentine, but you can also glue the word 'Love' on a pillow with these pompoms. It is useful if you have a glue gun, but you can of course do without.
