DIY:5 gift ideas for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is nice, but when it comes to gifts, it's barely a month and a half after Christmas and we have to admit that we sometimes dry up when it comes to ideas... Or else, we don't necessarily have the budget to give Bibi what we would like. So what to do? Well, we can decide to create a 100% handmade and super personal gift ourselves. The proof with these 5 ideas.

Compile our favorite songs on a CD or via a playlist

Material:songs + a CD or access to a streaming site.

Instructions:the hardest part is listing the songs! There are at least 10 of them, which correspond to moments of life with Bibi (hit from the first summer together, marriage proposal music, our respective favorite songs, etc.). Depending on the medium chosen, you download the music in .mp3 and burn it on a CD whose cover you can customize, or you create a playlist on a streaming platform (Deezer and Spotify have offers at €9.99 per month, even €4.99 for students on Spotify).

Make an album of memories

Material:photos + a nice notebook + colored markers.

Instructions:we start by collecting (or having printed!) photos that bring back important memories in our relationship (first times, dream vacations, unforgettable moments together, etc.). We then stick them in the notebook, in chronological order or not, and we remember to annotate each image with a memory. If you wish, you can go further in the decoration by using masking tape or stickers for example.

Organize a treasure hunt

Material:a playground in which you can install the clues + paper + a pen + a small gift.

Instructions:if Bibi is an adventurer, he will necessarily appreciate the treasure hunt side! The idea is to find a small gift that constitutes the treasure and to install clues in a place that is quite intimate if possible (it can also be at home!) that will lead our other half to the treasure. We adapt them to his tastes:is he a mathematician? We can make him guess the hideout of the next clue via an equation. If he/she is more into series, we can give him/her riddles on his/her favorite shows. In short, we adapt! The idea being to do nothing impossible, since the goal is just to play and have fun together.

Cooking a good dinner

Material:the shopping list for Bibi's favorite meal.

Instructions for use:it is the ideal gift if you are not used to cooking often (otherwise, it falls a little into the water...). We cook him his favorite dish, which we can decide to serve during a meal by candlelight or just with a nice table (the TV set atmosphere, if we want to mark the occasion, it's average). We also think of accompanying the meal with a good wine. Bad in the kitchen? Don't panic, it's the intention that counts:you can have the said meal delivered. And for dessert, you can count on one of the treats from our gourmet and sweet selection...

Make a sweet talk box

Material:a glass jar + colored papers + a pen.

Instructions for use:what is nice with this gift is that it makes the pleasure last! We cut small pieces of paper (5 x 3 cm for example) on which we write sweet words, we fold them and we put them in the glass jar. We can give ourselves a theme to inspire ourselves, for example “What I like about you” or “The projects that I would like us to carry out together”. The number of sweet words depends on our imagination, but we can set a precise count like 12 (months), 52 (weeks) or 365 (days) so that Bibi knows when to draw a new paper.

There's one week left until Valentine's Day, so you won't have to wait!
