The Erasmus program delivers more than academic credits—it's a catalyst for lifelong friendships, adventures, and romance, much like the iconic film The Spanish Apartment. New data from the European Commission confirms these real-world stories.
Surveying more than 80,000 responses across 34 countries, the Commission found that 27% of former Erasmus students met their current spouse or partner during their exchange—more than one in four.
These relationships often cross borders: 33% involve partners of different nationalities, triple the rate (13%) among students who stayed home.

Even more striking: Erasmus has contributed to at least one million births since 1987. An 'Erasmus Babies' reunion would fill stadiums worldwide.
Erasmus also supercharges careers. Today, 64% of employers value international experience for hiring—up sharply from 37% in 2007.
