A study published in the journal PLOS Biology by researchers at Case University in Cleveland, Ohio, examined fruit flies, which share more than 60% of their genes with humans. By observing female flies during courtship, scientists determined that it takes just 15 minutes for them to accept or reject a male's advances. If there's no response after 30 minutes, rejection is assured.
For human women, researchers suggest a similar timeline might apply—but is it valid to equate our complex behaviors with those of flies?
