Dear teenagers,
Let's be honest for a moment.
We don't nag you for fun—it's tough love because we truly care about you. (You'll be okay, won't you?) We can't help comparing it to our own teenage years: the hormones, first loves, all of it. We've even blocked out the sleepless nights, contractions, and everything that came after your arrival!
We get it—yes, we do. It reminds us of our adolescence (believe it or not, we were teens too—I did warn you it'd be rough!). Those memories, beyond just stretching phone cords away from our parents.
Truth is, skipping your high school summer reading won't leave you homeless. We parents have a knack for blowing things out of proportion. Still, we'll probably remind you the day before school starts, share that book, or point you to those awesome 10-minute YouTube summaries of the classics. It'd ease our minds if you got a head start, just in case.
Okay, confession: waking you up at 11 a.m. feels like sweet revenge for those endless nights in your early years. Cut us some slack on that one?
No worries—you'll understand someday, just like we did.
And yes, we love watching you grow, stand your ground, and challenge us. It's normal, reassuring even, to see we're no longer your heroes. It stings a bit when you spot our flaws, but we'll adapt. We're adults, after all! (Sort of.)
One non-negotiable: showers are mandatory. Thanks!
