Belief in love at first sight isn't reserved for young, starry-eyed romantics. A study by DatingAdvice.com, surveying 1,080 people, shows that despite past heartbreaks, this faith actually deepens as we age.
Middle-aged adults are nearly twice as likely (46%) as 18-24-year-olds to embrace love at first sight.
Those aged 35-44 top the list at 67%, with 45-54-year-olds close behind at 64%.
“By 35, we've gained real-life experiences and a clearer sense of what love means,” the study notes. We better recognize what we truly want—and spot a genuine connection instantly.
Gender differences surprise: Among middle-aged adults, 61% of men strongly believe in love at first sight, outpacing women at 53%.
Even more striking, divorced (60%) and married (61%) people believe more than singles (50%).
