Family Escape South: Fresh Air, Remote Work, and Beach Adventures During Holidays

With school holidays falling awkwardly this year, the perfect solution emerged: head south to Grandpa and Grandma's for the week.

As expected, it's ideal for the kids—but I joined them to reconnect with my parents too. Here we are in the South, breathing fresh air together, laptops, notebooks, children, and all. The beauty of self-employment? Freedom to work from anywhere.

Business doesn't pause on December 16—it runs until December 23. Yet I'm still soaking up the outdoors. Naturally, no sooner had we arrived in the Var than an orange storm alert hit. Some might call it bad luck.

That was yesterday. Today? 17 degrees Celsius, with the sun warming my face beautifully. Until the storm rolled in.
