While I often grumble about daily life with my teenager and pre-teen (my beloved children), I always cherish the good moments. Trust me, they do happen!
These joyful times are treasures I hold close, especially during tougher phases of parenting.
One Wednesday afternoon in early October, my youngest joined me for lunch at my Beaugrenelle office. His favorite spot nearby? Nature et Découvertes.
He loves simple pleasures: wandering the aisles, touching exhibits, playing, smelling scents, and testing gadgets—all without judgment from staff. I share his enthusiasm. Beyond endless gift ideas, it's my go-to store. No ideas? Head there. Got one? It likely came from there. I even have a membership card.
We spent over 45 minutes exploring every department, sampling free drinks, and relaxing in the electric massage chairs. Pure bliss! We discovered new toys and marveled at the Advent calendars: teas, world beers (guess my pick), organic treats, and more—something for every taste.
We found a headlamp (the visit's main goal), perfect for the upcoming Lights race and my son's nighttime reading.
Then, I confessed I had a voucher, letting him pick something special. After much deliberation, he chose the planetarium—a hit he even packed for his grandparents' trip (by plane!). I also grabbed Patarev modeling clay pots—our family's evergreen favorite. Pricey but versatile, it never dries out (if sealed properly) and has a delightfully malleable texture. 
In the wellness section, I discovered Les Tendances d'Emma—my top brand—and picked up a hot water bottle for my daughter. She's obsessed; she'd begged for one forever. Best mom points scored! What a Wednesday.
I also snagged glow-in-the-dark star stickers (similar packs available online): my 13-year-old had some; now the little one does too. I love them—no arm-twisting needed.
